NEPTUNE – The newsletter of 1st Belmont North – June, 2014

What is the group up to?

REGION RALLY.

Well done the scouts of patrol 1BN, Bosun Logan Coombes, PL Michael Trout,
APL Griffin Roughgarden, and Scout Zac Bailey, combined with two scouts from 1st Valentine, to come 3rd in the region rally…Great job boys, well done.

The State rally will be held at Cateract, 11th to 13th July, 2014.

SCOUT TOM’S CREEK CAMP.

There was a clash with the dates for the State Rally, scouts MUST let Ikki know if they are attending and what dates they are available by no later than next Tuesday 16th….If there are insufficient starters, the camp will not proceed this term.

WORKING BEE AT THE HALL. Saturday, 14th June 1300hrs (1pm)

The lawn and grounds have returned to jungle. Please help return it to civilization, some of our mowers and wiper snipers are suspect, so bring your own mower/wiper sniper if you can. It is important that as many parents as possible attend and help out, please don’t leave it to the “usual suspects”.
Remember there are no orphans at Belmont North.

The group committee plans to conduct a working bee each month, on the first Saturday, please keep in mind.

BUNNINGS Sunday 31Aug14.

Our next Bunnings sausage sizzle is the Sunday before Father’s Day, which last year meant we were very busy, and made a tidy profit.

Please put aside a couple of hours to help on the day.

Our last Bunnings had a few problems with some parents forgetting they had volunteered and didn’t turn up. This meant some parents did double shifts, and some even triple shifts…Please share the load. Its your boy who benefits.
We made a profit of $762.00 which of course, is money we don’t have to ask the parents for.

SCHOOL FATE AT BELMONT CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. August, 2014.

The group will be attending and running a display similar to the one last year at
Floraville Public School. Both parents and boys will be expected to attend. More details later.

ART UNION TICKETS

The time has come to return the tickets to the Rotary Club, please return your tickets, sold or unsold, NOW. We must return them to the Rotary Club by the 25th June, without fail.

TERM FEES.

Due to an increase in the fees we are required to State Office, the term subs, will increase to $85.00 from the next school term.

Please pay any outstanding fees for the second term ($80) ASAP.

THE SCOUT SALE (aka the junk sale) Saturday, 19th October.

Please note the family diary. We need your treasure/junk but not yet, our storage is full. We will let you know when to bring it in.

MERCHANT NAVY SERVICE /VISIT TO WATER POLICE. 7Jun14.

The troop as usual provided the colour party, took up the collection, and generally helped at this annual occasion. As always they did a great job. Thanks Scouts.
That afternoon, we joined the Water Police, on their high speed inflatable boat.
A good day.

PIE DRIVE/CHOCOLATE DRIVE

In the planning stages, more later.
