Cub Centenary Camp

What an amazing camp we had in Sydney over the weekend. We stayed in Clovelly Scout Hall and on Saturday we caught the bus to Central Station, caught the train to Milson’s Point and then walked across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, stopping on the way to climb the south eastern pylon to see the history and sights (Well done Alexander! Heights are not your thing.). We had lunch at Circular Quay and then visited Fort Denison by ferry, where we went on a tour and were allowed to “sight” the 3 tonne cannons. After an early dinner, we visited the Sydney Observatory and saw Mars, Saturn and Jupiter through the telescopes and saw some amazing 3D movies. On Sunday we took part in the Cub Centenary celebrations, visiting Government House and reaffirming our Cub Scout promise. We then went on a smaller ferry to Darling Harbour (via Luna Park) and back and then took the big Manly Ferry to meet up with Skip to get in our bus to come home. We looked great and lots of people wanted photos with us in our uniforms. Thanks Akela for a fantastic weekend. We hope your thumb mends quickly. …and we really missed you Heath. Get well buddy!
